The Burbo Bank wind farm can be found in the Irish Sea and was brought online in 2007. . It is run by Wind Prospect.
It has been built in around 2 metres of water. Many of the UK projects are built in shallow waters with the turbines using monopile foundations.
It has a nameplate capacity of 90MW and was developed by DONG Energy.
Just the German offshore sector comes close to the UK offshore in terms of capacity. Unfortunately, the most of the UK projects are built by foreign companies.
