The Hooksiel wind farm can be found in the German North Sea and it was brought online in 2008. Hooksiel is closest to the town of Hookseil and is operated by BARD Group.
regarding depths it is situated in waters with a maximum depth of 5 metres. Many of the German projects are designed in deeper waters together with the turbines using jacket or tripod foundations.
It features a nameplate capacity of 5MW and was produced by BARD Group.
The German offshore industry is second to the UK when it comes to development. This is despite the limited coastline available.
Most of the German projects use Bard or Senvion wind turbines. The only other is the M5000 developed by Multibrid.
