The Bard Offshore 1 wind farm can be found in the German North Sea and it was brought online in 2013. Bard Offshore 1 is closest to the town of North-west of Borkum and is operated by BARD Group.
When it comes to depths it is located within waters having a maximum depth of 41 metres. Many of the German projects are made in deeper waters together with the turbines using jacket or tripod foundations.
It has a nameplate capacity of 400MW and was put together by BARD Engineering.
The German offshore industry is second to the UK regarding development. This is despite the limited coastline available.
The majority of the German projects use Bard or Senvion wind turbines. The only other is the M5000 developed by Multibrid.
