UK-based advisory group the Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) has launched the Global Renewables Infrastructure Projects (GRIP) platform, an on-line database designed to streamline market research into clean-energy projects.
The first phase roll-out of the GRIP database will cover statistics on offshore wind projects worldwide, updated in real time, allowing users to query and extract data by metrics including country, project, participant, status, associated infrastructure and assets, and carry out in-depth comparative analysis.
The information on GRIP is sourced from RCG’s network of industry contacts, government publications, regulators, publicly available company information, financial markets, and media platforms.
“Gathering reliable information on multiple projects can be time-consuming and costly and the results are often inaccurate. That’s why we created GRIP,” said RCG chief operating officer Lee Clarke.
“We apply our analytical workflow and deep industry experience to assess the quality of the data before incorporating information into our proprietary databases and forecasting models,”
GRIP Offshore Wind is live today (25 April), with other renewable energy technology dashboards “to be added soon”.
